Social Security 2 (SOS2)
If they're going to keep trying to starve the original, here's a second one they can't easily touch.
It's worth reviewing the history of U.S. Social Security before anything else: since its founding, powerful people have consistently wanted to end it.
One recurring strategy is known as "Starve the Beast" — deliberately cutting the program's funding or framing it as unsustainable, until ending it starts to look inevitable rather than chosen.
A Second System, Built Differently
Social Security 2 (SOS2) is a non-profit plan to build and buy non-profit housing, aimed directly at reducing the suffering caused by housing shortages — the same shortages a weakened safety net makes far more dangerous.
Unlike a program that depends on legislative funding every year, SOS2 is designed to hold its own housing stock directly — assets that are much harder to "starve" through a budget fight.
Status Levels, No Age Limit
SOS2 has no age limit — but benefits grow as a person builds their status. Status levels work like this:
- AH Points
A points system called Affordable Housing Points tracks and manages the whole plan — how status is earned, and what it unlocks.
- No Age Limit
Unlike traditional Social Security, there's no minimum age to start building status under SOS2.
