Affordable Housing Coin (AHCoin)

A plan for earning your way toward a place to live, one contribution at a time.

AHCoin is the Upgrade Party's answer to a simple question: what if housing could be earned instead of just financed? Rather than relying only on income or credit, AHCoin lets people build toward a home through everyday participation in their community.

How you earn AHCoin

Coin levels

AHCoin is organized into tiers, each opening the door to a different kind of home:

What a level gets you depends on where you live. Bronze, for instance, might cover a small studio in a modest town, or a tiny house in a pricier city like Seattle — usually with some cost still owed for utilities and similar expenses. Higher tiers unlock larger dwellings. Choose to live smaller than your tier allows, and the difference comes back to you as cash.

What AHCoin is — and isn't

AHCoin carries no cash value on its own, and in most cases it can't be transferred between people. The exception is "Founder" AHCoin, a special version we're using to help fund the purchase of certain properties. Founder AHCoin can be sold to others.

Tenants holding AHCoin get a voice: they vote for the Trustees who oversee each building. Every building operates as its own non-profit, with safeguards built in to protect ownership.

Who can join

There's no age requirement and no location limit to take part in AHCoin. One practical note: if you receive cash through the program, it counts as taxable income once it crosses a certain threshold (currently $600), and we're required to report it.

Get involved today

Right now, Founder AHCoin is being offered to help secure a handful of buildings across Washington State and Oregon.
