The Upgrade Party is not a political party. Think of it more like a GI Party — a group that shows up to do the work that needs doing.
It's a work party for people who like science fiction and change. If you grew up reading Robert Heinlein, Kurt Vonnegut, or Gene Roddenberry — welcome home. And if you haven't yet encountered Trekonomics, that's a good place to start.
Why Purple
Blue is the color for Democrats, and red is for Republicans. Purple is the official color of the Upgrade Party — the Upgradians — even though we're not a political party.

I took Latin at Bloomington High School for 3 1/2 years and gladly learned plenty about history in school and later. As a result, I put many historical references in this site. As a computer programmer, I had the good fortune to work across broad areas of business, including banking, oil and gas, real-estate, and insurance. I have been thinking about the Upgrade Party for too many years and feel that now is the most urgent time to go forward with it...
Since I am the first member of the "Upgrade Party", I am therefore a First Upgradian".
My high school Latin teacher was convinced my name should have been Pious Aeneas.
My Spanish Club name was El Hombre Duro — since my real name is Roy Hardman.
